Stop Guessing Your Rates!!!

From the outside, the creator economy looks like a mature and sophisticated part of the marketing & advertising industry, but the truth is that creators, brands and advertisers are still trying to create systems, decide how to measure success and agree on value. One of the main question marks within the creator economy is still creator/influencer rates, with 37% of creators setting their rates by guessing and then adjusting over time (Mavrck Creator Compensation Report). This has created a system where micro and macro creators can easily be taken advantage of by brands and end up underpaid.

To help, we surveyed hundreds of creators & influencer (of all following sizes) to build trusted rate charts for both Instagram & TikTok. This way, creators who take MYB courses know exactly what to charge on each platform, and how to properly advocate for their worth.

Once you understand how to set your rates, it’s important to be able to back them up with data and examples! This will help contextualize your rates when you share them with a brand and help a brand justify their ROI (return on investment) if they work with you!

  1. Data

Rates are based on data & stats like follower count, engagement rate, reach, video views, etc. When you share your rates, it’s helpful to share the data that helped set the rate. This can be done with analytics screenshots or including specific stats on your media kit.

  1. Examples

Sharing examples or case studies of your past partnerships can also help when negotiating rates with a brand. These examples show the value you can bring to a brand and can include things like:

  • Links to past partnership content + a summary of post performance/analytics

  • Affiliate program or LTK results that show your ability to drive sales with your content

  • Recent trending or viral content

Combining intentionally set rates and data + examples to back up the rates will help you land more partnerships and get paid what you deserve.
